How to Install TWRP Recovery & ClockworkMod Recovery (CWM) on HTC Butterfly

HTC’s most costlier smartphone HTC Butterfly which runs on Android 4.1 Jelly Bean operating system, allows its users to use many other apps and it can be upgraded to the latest Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean custom firmware. For that, your device must be a rooted one and after installing a custom recovery you can install such apps and custom ROM on your device. Here, you will see how to install TWRP Recovery and CWM Recovery on your HTC Butterfly. (No need to install two for any device, just select one and install it.)

HTC Butterfly

Requirements :

  • Use a proper data cable to connect your device to the PC
  • Your device’s battery should be charged up to 80%
  • Have a good backup of your device
  • Your computer must have installed ADB drivers and fastboot in it

How to Install TWRP Recovery on HTC Butterfly :

Step 1 :

Step 2 :

  • Extract all the files from the downloaded installer.

Step 3 :

  • Select one of the files from the extracted files which says START HERE to launch the command prompt. 

Step 4: 

  • Now, you need to send your device into bootloader  mode. You can do so by putting the below command on the command prompt.
  • adb reboot bootloader

Step 5 :

  • After that enter the below command when your phone is in fastboot mode.
  • fastboot reboot

Step 6:

  • fastboot flash recovery recovery.img

Step 7:

  • Your recovery has been succesfully installed on your device. To escape from the recovery and reboot the device, enter the following command. 
  • fastboot reboot
  • TWRP Recovery is now installed on your HTC Butterfly device.


How to Install ClcokWorkMod Recovery (CWM) on HTC Butterfly :

Step 1 :

  • <Make sure that ADB and Fastboot is configured.

Step 2 :

  • Connect your device to the computer using a proper data cable and install ADB drivers in it.

Step 3 :

Step 4 :

  • Now, go to the bootloader mode. You can do so by opening a command prompt. Press Shift key and right click to open command prompt.

Step 5 :

  • In the command prompt you need to put the following command. 
  • adb reboot bootloader

Step 6 :

  • Your device will switch off itself. It will install all the proper drivers.

Step 7 :

  • Boot your device on fastboot mode by Holding the volume down and power buttons together. 

Step 8 :

  • Now, you need to type one more command in the command prompt window.
  • fastboot flash recovery recovery.img

Step 9 :

  • After completing the installation you need to select Recovery from the menu and then Recovery mode.

Step 10 :

  • There will be a Recovery menu on your device’s screen now. 

Step 11 :

  • Select Reboot System Now option to complete the installation. 

Step 12 :

  • You have successfully installed CWM Recovery on your HTC Butterfly device.
